Your Doula

Originally from Prince Georges County Maryland, D'Ericka took on the role of nurturer fairly early in her life. As the oldest of 8 she lovingly stepped into the big sister role to help guide her siblings by displaying great leadership. In 2014 she became a mother herself and it was during this experience that she discovered her calling for birth work. It was through her own birth journey that the need for more black supporters was magnified and she felt strongly about being an agent of change in that dynamic.

In 2017 she moved to Raleigh-Durham, NC to begin a new chapter with her now husband and 2 daughters. It was in August of 2021 that D'Ericka took a leap of faith and decided to extend her years of knowledge and experience in supporting family and friends in home birth and postpartum care, to her community in Raleigh-Durham, NC. Since, D'Ericka has devoted time to being a student, becoming trauma informed, and expanding her inclusive services, to widen her scope of support care.

Having completed Full Spectrum Doula training with BADT- Birthing Advocacy Doula Training- a trauma informed institution and Associate's degree from the University of Maryland Global Campus, D'Ericka is a Certified Full Spectrum Doula. She has been proudly serving her community of Raleigh-Durham in hospital settings since November 2021 and will resume homebirth in 2023.

" I will continue to help recreate the way we interact and think about birth, more importantly, physiological birth, as it pertains to people that look like me. We deserve to experience birth void of trauma."

Our Mission

It is our focus that safe environments are facilitated for all birthing and parenting people through education, practice, and intentional communication.

With emphasis on marginalized communities, we strive to make space for all family dynamics to experience birthing and parenting with autonomy.

"We are intentionally tasked to combat the Black Maternal Health statistic across the United States of America. To organize against white supremacy and capitalism, holding space for joy, and standing for the political liberation of our communities we uplift the stories and demands of marginalized pregnant folks and the birth workers who serve them."
